Orpheus

Monday afternoon, Wes and I took a trip to New Orleans for some Mardi Gras fun!

Harry Connick, Jr., Wes' fave!

I may or may not have lost my mind screaming her name!

I may or may not have almost been run over by this float!
The important things are that she heard me, she looked at me, and Cyndi Lauper threw a long strand of gold beads right to me! Pretty sure this is going to make the top 10 of 2012!

Until next time...

Pinterest Projects #2 & #3

If you are wondering what Pinterest project #1 was, it was the snowman wreath that I hung on my door at Christmas.

This was really simple. Just zip tie three wreaths of different sizes together. Wrap a scarf around the neck, put a hat on the head, and place sticks for arms. Viola!

I think next year, I will wrap my door in wrapping paper for a more attractive background to Mr. Snowman!

So... Pinterest project #2 was very delicious. The pin I actually saw made this with zucchini, but I didn't have that. I had eggplant because it was on sale. I wasn't sure how we would like this dish so last night because we weren't that hungry, I decided to try it. It was fantastic and so super easy.

Eggplant sliced about 1/4 inch thick
tomato sauce
mozzarella cheese
pepperoni

Top eggplant with tomato sauce. cheese, and pepperoni. Bake for 15 minutes on 350. Yummo! I added cherry tomatoes to ours and Parmesan cheese. Next time, I plan on adding mushrooms, black olives, and jalapenos. I LOVE pizza, and I know I can enjoy it without the guilt!

During the Nix game, I decided to turn a T-shirt into a tank top. I followed the instructions on Tee to Tank that I found on Pinterest.

Here are a couple a tips they don't mention. You need to make the arm holes about 1.5 inches larger than the holes you get when you cut the sleeves off. You loose part of that because of the fold down for sewing. Also, once you get the sewing complete, it is difficult to sl;ide the lace up strip through. I tied a knot in the end of the lace up strip and pushed it through with a unwound wire coat hanger.

A better idea, is to just pin the strip in place before sewing. I think it turned out really cute and only took about 45 minutes. I am going to do a lot of my T-shirts this way.

Until next time...

Hi, again

Not that much has been going on, lately, which I am pretty happy about. Wes and I are excited to have a 4 day weekend thanks to Mardi Gras! After last years festivities, http://www.flowersandkittens.blogspot.com/2011/03/im-gonna-be-mister.html, we decided to take it easy this year. We are looking forward to catching some beads, doing chores, and relaxing.

Last night we hosted a boo ray party, and it was a blast!

Happy Mardi Gras!

Until next time...
